The 14 inch diameter does open up a lot more tyre choices BUT the wheels are redrilled to 5 x 130 PCD. If you get one hole wrong you need another set! I am going to open another message under 'Parts for Sale/Wanted' to get some feedback on best current tyres for the S800.nondisclosed_email@example.com (hondas800)Thu, 05 Jul 2018 11:33:17 +0000 Re: Operation Lazarus - She lives!https://bhondas800sportscarclubmessageboard.runboard.com/p5735,from=rss#post5735https://bhondas800sportscarclubmessageboard.runboard.com/p5735,from=rss#post5735The rover wheels are usually modified to fit, that is that the holes are re-bored to the correct PCD and inserts fitted to take the nuts. Not fitted as is! nondisclosed_email@example.com (HONDAPETE2)Thu, 28 Jun 2018 19:53:32 +0000 Re: Operation Lazarus - She lives!https://bhondas800sportscarclubmessageboard.runboard.com/p5734,from=rss#post5734https://bhondas800sportscarclubmessageboard.runboard.com/p5734,from=rss#post5734more rubber means more drag. the engine will have to work a little harder. the Rover wheels are 5x127. Porsche is 5x130 and with 15 inch wheels there is more choice of tyres. 195/45x 15 is the same rolling radius as 185/60x13. (you can check Here for size comparisons) there may only be 3mm difference between the Rover and Porsche (Honda S800) but that will put quite a strain on the studs. car looks great by the way nondisclosed_email@example.com (Bozwell S8oo)Thu, 28 Jun 2018 18:42:49 +0000 Re: Operation Lazarus - She lives!https://bhondas800sportscarclubmessageboard.runboard.com/p5733,from=rss#post5733https://bhondas800sportscarclubmessageboard.runboard.com/p5733,from=rss#post5733Apologies for the late reply - the wheels are from Rover SD1 3500 rom 1980's. same PCD & 14" wheels, with a bit of tweaking they fit rightly with nothing sticking out. More rubber on the road can only be a good thing...nondisclosed_email@example.com (kenthesweep)Thu, 28 Jun 2018 14:44:17 +0000 Re: Operation Lazarus - She lives!https://bhondas800sportscarclubmessageboard.runboard.com/p5666,from=rss#post5666https://bhondas800sportscarclubmessageboard.runboard.com/p5666,from=rss#post5666Very nice. Blood, sweat & tears, a bare metal respray, new chrome, rebuilt engine and the list went on and on.. Thanks to M. Ortmann for the parts (I'm sure he thanks me for the many beer tokens sent in return). She looks and feels brilliant, apart from an annoying 'rattle' when the clutch is depressed (they tell me this is common in the breed, something to do with the flywheel). If I knew how to post pictures I would, but being a bit of a luddite simply loading them seems hard with http links an' all. Suffice to say, she's great!nondisclosed_email@example.com (kenthesweep)Mon, 28 May 2018 18:47:28 +0000
